Success at UTC Reading Post-16 Open Event
UTC Reading hosted a successful Post-16 Open Event this month for prospective students and their parents. Visitors to the school had the chance to tour the state of the art facilities the UTC has to offer, as well as speak to staff and current students, giving their accounts of their experiences so far.
STEM trip to Reading University
On Wednesday 17 January a group of Year 11,12 and 13 Biology students went on a trip to Reading University to visit Dr Sakthivel Vaiyapuri, a Lecturer in Pharmacology.
IET Talk - Reading Tech Community
UTC Reading was proud to host the first meeting of the Reading Tech Community with Matt Rodda, MP Reading East this month, which involved 25 representatives of technology interest groups giving their views on the local landscape.
Intermediate Mathematics Challenge 2018
On Friday 2 February, a group of Year 10 UTC Reading pupils took part in the UKMT Intermediate Maths Challenge.
Children and the Chocolate Factory
206 primary school pupils from six schools across Reading took the chance to visit UTC Reading to take part in the ‘Children and the Chocolate Factory’ challenge event.
Year 12 Architecture trip to London
On Friday 23 February, 15 Year 12 Art and Design Architecture students went to London for a walking tour of key architectural points of interest and visited the Victoria and Albert Museum.
STEM ambassadors’ visit
On Friday 23 February, two STEM ambassadors visited UTC Reading to give lectures to students about their careers and current work.
On Wednesday 21 February, Salesforce kicked off a project with students as part of their specialist enrichment.
The project envoles and tests the students' ability to apply what they have learned on the Trailhead learning platform. Our Salesforce mentors, Jay and Erika, will be leading the students through a CRM projcet that will enable them to apply their skills into a real world scenario.

Pathway have just announced some of the amazing opportunities that are coming up in March, many of which are in connection with National Apprenticeship Week, aimed at helping young people to make an informed decision about their future career pathway.
