IET Talk – Reading Tech Community
Last week, UTC Reading was proud to host the first meeting of the Reading Tech Community with Matt Rodda, MP Reading East, which involved 25 representatives of technology interest groups giving their views on the local landscape.
Specific areas that were discussed were women in STEM and how to increase industry engagement with education. With Matt Rodda's background in education; both as a civil servant and in journalism, he was keen to discuss issues related to teaching and learning, which was a prevalent topic of conversation for the day.
We would like to thank the organisers of the event; IET Berkshire, with senior representatives from BCS, Institute of Chemical Engineers, Google Developers Group, Women Techmakers, along with the Reading Museum of Rural Life, IoT Berkshire, PHP Berkshire, Hackspace, Remap, and other community groups, for making the event such a success. We were also very pleased to welcome Highdown School.
