Cisco prepare students for professional qualification

A team of Cisco engineers, including a UTC Reading alumna, is running a series of practical sessions with current Year 13 computing students this term.

Our students are working towards a Cisco qualification (CCNA1 for Routing and Switching), which includes a series of online tests and a practical exam at the end of the year. The Cisco engineers are running sessions between now and then to help students prepare for the exam and build on their networking skills.

Former UTC Reading student Risha Divyesh commented: “It’s great to be able to come back and support the students, having completed the same Cisco qualification myself last year. I hope the experience is helping students to get an insight into some of the day-to-day work we do at Cisco, so they can get a feel for whether or not the apprenticeship scheme would be a good option for them when they leave UTC Reading.”

We are very grateful to the Cisco team for their support and look forward to seeing more of our students join their fantastic apprenticeship scheme this summer.
