UTC Reading wins Reading Cultural Award
UTC Reading has been awarded a Reading Cultural Award for 2017 following taking part in last December's Light Up Reading event.
In the lead-up to the Light Up Reading event on 1 December 2016, UTC Reading students designed, refined and manufactured an innovative lighting installation for Reading Station Forecourt, with support and mentoring from Fraser Tooth (Peter Brett Associates) and Stuart Melrose (Stuart Melrose Furniture Design).
The students, their families and staff from UTC Reading were invited to the Light Up Reading event on Thursday 1 December. It was a great spectacle, highlighting the rich culture of Reading. It was a fantastic opportunity to see the project come to life and to be involved in such a wide spread event.
Alex Brannen, Communications Manager for Reading UK CIC, said: "For Reading UK CIC, the Reading Cultural Awards are a public demonstration of the vibrancy of Reading’s cultural scene. As a winner of a Reading Cultural Award, you are a great ambassador for Reading and we look forward to continuing to work with you over the next 12 months to showcase arts and culture in Reading."
Profiles of all winners are included online in the Reading Cultural Awards 2017 brochure. Congratulations to all students and staff who were involved in this fantastic project.
