Once every term UTC Reading runs a STEMhub in collaboration with WISE (campaign for gender balance in science, technology and engineering). The aim of the STEMhub is to bring together representatives from local schools (both primary and secondary) and industry professionals with the goal of collaborating to enrich the quality of STEM education for pupils.
The meetings are ‘Action Groups’ focussing on exposing school STEM representatives to as many industry professionals as possible and enabling them to book STEM events in there and then. School representatives are encouraged to come with dates for events already in mind to make the most of this opportunity.
Industry representatives who have been involved in the past have come from Microsoft, PBA, Kier, Thames Water, Army, Creat3d, Rockwell Collins, QA, Cisco and Costain as well as organisations such as Winchester Science Centre, Founders4Schools, Engineering UK, ECITB and CBEBP who are able to assist in finding suitable industry representatives for school projects.
If you are interested in getting involved, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information and to register.
