Technology at UTC Reading

All students at UTC Reading need access to a Windows compatible device to support their learning. This device is used for learning in many classes, collaborating on projects, communicating with teachers and staff, keeping records of feedback and assessment, research, programming, online learning, time management and much more.

Our goal is to prepare our students for the dynamic world of technology, and we achieve this by ensuring that students use the latest technology on a regular basis.

We incorporate the use of industry standard software such as Microsoft Office 365 into the normal routines of our working day.

All students have the opportunity to advance their technological capabilities and professional qualifications in many software programmes, such as:

  • Microsoft MOS (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Access, Sharepoint, OneNote)
  • Microsoft MTA (IT Infrastructure, Database, Developer)
  • Microsoft MCSA/MCSD/MCSE
  • AutoDesk (AutoCAD, Revit, Maya, Inventor)
  • Adobe (Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and more)

All exam fees for standard qualifications are paid for by UTC Reading.

All e-learning materials for these qualifications are provided for every student by UTC where available.

UTC Reading asks that parents contribute to the cost of provision of hardware, software, and support provision over a 2-year period.
