Student information and resources
Students are at the heart of the Careers Programme at UTC Reading. All that we deliver is to benefit the students in preparing them for the world of work and ensuring that they go onto a successful destination, that is right for them. Students have access to a wealth of information through the Careers Programme, particularly within PPD sessions and specialist Career events.
We also have a new Careers Hub at UTC Reading, which is a central place for students to access Careers Information and the Careers Library. Within the Careers Hub, there are over 100 books, prospectuses and leaflets which students have access to throughout their breaks, lunches and for KS5 during their independent learning slots. The resources are provided for students to research their own career pathways, and they are welcome to utilise these within the Careers Hub. Our external careers adviser often refers to books within the Careers Library which students can read following up their independent careers’ advice interviews.
Stephanie Mitchell, the Executive Director of Careers and Destinations also places herself within the Careers Hub for drop-in student support sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays between 13:00 – 14:00pm every week.
