Our facilities

Text Box: Insert image: 4.UTC_facilities_inbody_image_320pxWOver £8 million has been invested in developing this state-of-the-art learning centre for computer science and engineering.

The campus includes buildings dedicated to computer science and engineering and spaces for science, music and humanities.

Our UTC is truly at the leading edge of technology in learning. Personal devices can be used anywhere to access work and study resources. Our Microsoft and Cisco learning labs are hi-tech and have their own dedicated server and IT infrastructure that you will use in your learning.

Right at the heart of the UTC campus is the special place that makes us really different. Our independent study area is a vibrant hub combining learning resources with a flexible ‘hot desk’ working environment.

Technology at UTC Reading

We believe that it is important that students not only have an in-depth understanding of technology but that they also understand how it is used in a day-to-day environment.  Technology at UTC Reading will therefore be used to help you:

  • Gain a greater understanding of networking, communications, software, programming and engineering
  • Familiarise yourself with the use of technology in the workplace, particularly in the ICT and engineering sectors
  • Understand how to use digital media as a creative tool

Wireless technology will be in use throughout UTC Reading so you can use your own device or one you will be supplied with. You will be continually challenged in your IT skills and how to apply them in digital art, scientific work, music and humanities.  You will be introduced to the whole spectrum of uses for technology and to how it impacts on our lives.

Students also have access to our Fujitsu Innovation Hub:
