Business Relations

Michael Halliday – Business Relations Manager

Michael Halliday brings over ten years of experience in corporate and enterprise IT integration sales and seven years of communication training and consultancy experience to his role as Business Relations Manager at UTC Reading. Michael works with the senior leadership team at UTC Reading to design and implement an enriching education that prepares young people for the world of work. This includes employer-led projects, mentoring, industry specific enrichments programmes and events to ensure that students are fully aware of the variety of destinations open to them.

Amy Sutcliffe – Events Coordinator

Amy Sutcliffe has worked in event management for a number of diverse organisations, including the UK’s leading cultural tour operator and the British Council, for the last twelve years. She has been working with Michael Halliday and Sarah Dawson since September 2016 to coordinate a relevant and cohesive programme of industry partner events for the students at UTC Reading.

Careers Lead

Stephanie Mitchell

Stephanie Mitchell is the Executive Director of Specialisms at UTC Reading, overseeing both the Engineering and Computing departments and sits as a member of the Senior Leadership Team. Stephanie is now in her seventh year of her teaching career, and has been at UTC Reading since September 2016. With a passion for diversity in STEM, Stephanie leads on a number of initiatives to encourage more females to take up a career in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, as well as the Arts. A firm believer in learning through creativity, Stephanie also heads up the Design and Technology department, teaching subjects such as Product Design and Architecture. In addition, Stephanie is the designated Careers Lead at UTC Reading, guiding the careers team to support our students in achieving meaningful destinations. Stephanie has achieved the Career Mark; Quality in Careers Standard for the college, showing the quality of careers advice and guidance given to our students, motivating them to achieve their ultimate end goal.

Special Educational Needs 

Georgina Craven 

Joining UTC Reading in our opening year, Georgina has worked within the Special educational needs (SEN) team at UTC Reading to ensure we provide an inclusive and nurturing learning environment for all children.

With a Bsc (hons) in Marine Zoology, Georgina teaches Biology GCSE and A-level, whilst leading the SEN team in supporting students and staff to achieve their best possible outcomes.

Admissions

Julie Hooper – Admissions Coordinator

Julie joined the UTC Reading team in May 2017 as an administrator. She has worked as the attendance coordinator and now also works within the admissions team, supporting new students and parents to explore UTC through open events and taster events, and then from the point of application, right through their journey to ensure that parents and students have an excellent experience at UTC Reading.
