About us

UTC Reading opened in September 2013 for boys and girls aged 14 to 19 living in the catchment area. The UTC specialises in Engineering and Computer Science, alongside a broad and balanced curriculum and benefits from the support of local and national employers and leading universities.

Life as a student at UTC Reading will be unlike any school experience you’ve ever had before.

Using the latest technology, you will learn through projects and practical activities. Teaching staff run lessons and seminars to introduce new topics and are always on hand to offer support in our independent learning spaces. You’ll also work closely with our industry partners on projects and challenges they set.

Wednesday and Friday afternoons will give you a break from your studies as you get involved in creative or sporting enrichment activities.

You won’t need to take any work home with you, as our longer day means that you have time to complete it at the UTC.

At UTC Reading you can study for a range of GCSEs, BTECs and A Levels. Find out more about studying in Year 10 or Post 16.

You don’t need to pass any tests or pay any fees to join UTC Reading in Year 10. If you’re interested in becoming a student at UTC Reading, then why not come along to one of our open events?
