Students pitch to secure valuable work placement
Last week, teams of UTC Reading students took part in a highly contested application process for the new Thames Water work experience placement.
Each team of three UTC Reading students pitched to secure a week-long placement with Thames Water, benefiting from mentoring, site visits and guidance in designing a solution to tackle the various challenges faced in the water industry.
Andrew Popple, Head of Programme Delivery at Thames Water, was leading the interview process. He remarked on the quality and innovative capabilities of our students: “The thought that has been put into the proposals is evidence of how innovation is nurtured here at the UTC and we are expecting great things from the two chosen teams when they spend a week with us at our Reading HQ this summer.”
