CCF honours fallen heroes on Remembrance Day
The Combined Cadet Force has marked Remembrance Day.
This morning (Thursday, November 11), our Combined Cadet Force (CCF) held a parade to mark Remembrance Day.
The CCF is made up of students from UTC Reading and Maiden Erlegh School in Reading.
Students paraded in formation, a poem was read by the youngest student in the hall, then Elise Hammond from UTC Reading held a speech about those lost in Afghanistan, especially mentioning a Rifleman from Caversham who lost his life in the conflict.
After this a minute's silence was observed before the CCF paraded out of the hall again.
It was a truly humbling ceremony, and we are very proud of all members of the CCF.
