Year 12 receive inspiring talk at the start of term

On Wednesday 16 September, UTC Reading’s Year 12 students received a visit from motivational speaker, James Aidoo, from Innerscope.

Innerscope deliver keynotes and coaching designed to shift students from intention to action.

James talked to students about developing resilience, by taking responsibility for their own success, reaching out for help when they need it and reframing their perspectives in order to gain motivation for the coming term.

This session built upon tasks that students had completed on identifying their strengths and weaknesses and knowing themselves in the past couple of personal and professional development sessions.

Students have these sessions once a week to ensure that they can make the most of their time at UTC Reading. Speakers such as James, who bring an outside perspective and provide extremely engaging sessions, are really important to instil these messages in students.

Students took a lot away from James’ visit and commented that “James is an exceptional speaker; you always want to hear more from him”, that it was ‘a very inspiring talk’ and that they ‘liked the fact he shared his own experiences to teach key points about life.”

We look forward to welcoming James back in the near future and want to thank him for his motivational, inspiring talk.
