Prospective students get live virtual tour of the school in first UTC Reading Open Event of the academic year

UTC Reading held their first Virtual Open Event of the academic year on Wednesday 23 September.

Due to current Covid-19 guidance, the event was held remotely via Zoom, however e-ticket sales were a sell-out with huge numbers of prospective students and their parents dialling in.

On the night, attendees were given a live virtual tour of the UTC as Principal Jonathan Nicholls took everyone around the key departments to meet the teaching leads. As well as the live tour and hearing from key staff, the event also featured a talk from current student, Nicola Harrison, former student (and ex Student President), James Carter and employer partner, Thames Water representative, Samantha Over.

The event finished with a live Q&A, taking questions from the ‘chat’ feed. The questions which were not answered on the night have been added to an event FAQ document which will be shared.

We would like to thank everyone that joined on the night and hope that it was an informative and engaging event – thank you for so many questions!

Alternatively, we will be hosting our next Virtual Open Event on Tuesday 13 October at 17.30pm! You can register for this event here:
