Prospective students get glimpse of UTC life
UTC Reading opened its doors for the last Open Event of 2019 on Wednesday, inviting prospective Year 10 and Post-16 students and their families to the UTC campus.
The event started at 5:30pm with keen families arriving early to explore the facilities. Refreshments were available supporting the National Autistic Society with donations from purchases.
Principal Jonathan Nicholls held a talk on what makes UTC Reading different from a traditional school curriculum, as well as touching on factors of enrichment, well-being and opportunities such as the UTC Pipeline Programme.
Guests were able to explore the facilities and meet current students and staff to ask questions about subjects and UTC Reading.
We also had guests from Oxford Brookes and University of Reading talking about opportunities after UTC Reading and how BTEC subjects can lead to university and apprentice degrees.
We would like to thank all of our guests, students and staff for making the event possible.
