Keir lands prestigious Google apprenticeship at London HQ

BTEC Computing student, Keir, has secured a prestigious apprenticeship with one of most sought-after employers in the world, Google.

Keir, who studies BTEC in computing and core mathematics in Year 13, will start his apprenticeship as an Infrastructure Technician in October at Google’s Head Office in Kings Cross, London.

Keir tells us more…

“I am really excited about this apprenticeship. Who doesn’t want to work for Google?! It’s one of the best technology companies out there. When I was searching for apprenticeships, I came across this one and knew I had to apply.”

“After sending off my application, I was asked to do a phone interview. After this they asked me in for more face to face interviews at their London office. It was such a great experience and an incredible office. I had no idea I had got in, but a couple of weeks later they contacted me to say I was successful; I was chuffed!”

“I joined UTC Reading in Year 12 for sixth form, mainly because of the courses they offered and the close relationships with leading industry partners such as Microsoft and Fujitsu.”

“Since September we’ve had UTC Pipeline Programme days, and for mine, I chose to work with NTT Security as I have a real interest in cyber security. The days I’ve spent with them across the year have taught me a lot and have been beneficial to my future.

We wish Keir the best of luck in his apprenticeship and look forward to hearing how it is all going in the near future.
