Work experience at Microsoft

Sixth Form students Liam and Jack have had the opportunity to spend the day at Microsoft for the day working with Microsoft’s UK Education Team.

Sixth Form students Liam and Jack have had the opportunity to spend the day at Microsoft for the day working with Microsoft’s UK Education Team.

Activities such as corporate meetings, management presentations and conference calls gave them a real insight into working life at the organisation.

Jack and Liam also got to meet Lawrence Gripper who spoke about Microsoft’s work to develop mobile apps and Senior Marketing Manager Phil Cross. Students at the UTC are currently developing their own mobile apps, so Lawrence and Phil’s advice will be really helpful!

On the experience Jack said: “We had a well-rounded day at Microsoft and got an insight into different aspects of what they do”.

Liam said: “The day was really useful and I enjoyed finding out more about Microsoft’s app development programme. The biggest thing I can take from the day is that I a foot in the door and got to network with key people within the organisation.

Students from all year groups at the UTC will be given the opportunity to put themselves forward to take part in work experience with our many industry partners.
