Welcome to the latest edition of the UTC Reading newsletter. Take a look at the range of exciting activities that have been taking place over the past term:
UTC Reading awarded Microsoft Global Showcase School Status for the second time
Microsoft has recognised UTC Reading as a Microsoft Showcase School once again, following previous recognition for this in 2015, becoming the country’s first UTC to be awarded this status.
UTC Reading hosts first Open Event of the academic year
On Wednesday 26 September, UTC Reading hosted a busy Open Event for prospective students and their families, giving them the chance to tour the facilities and get a feel for what studying at a UTC is like.
UTC Reading joined new Cyber Security Group to prepare students for the jobs of tomorrow
UTC Reading, along with a group of other UTCs up and down the country have joined to equip their students with the right cyber security skills needed for when they start employment, or move on to higher education.
UTC Pipeline Programme is training students for careers with industry leaders
UTC Reading launched its NEW UTC Pipeline Programme for KS5 students, teaming up with leading industry experts, such as Microsoft, Salesforce and Fujitsu, to run four pipeline days a year with students, to develop skills that young people need to succeed in the workplace.
KS4 students problem-solve in Royal Navy Challenge
On Tuesday 4 December, KS4 students at UTC Reading took a day off timetable to compete head-to-head in a day of problem-solving challenges, set by the Royal Navy.
Applications for September 2019
You can still apply for a place at UTC Reading in September 2018.
To apply for a place, complete the Year 10 application form or Year 12 application form on our website. We will be in touch shortly afterwards to confirm the next steps of the application process.
Post-16 Open Event on Monday 4 February
Our post-16 open event is a great opportunity to find out more about studying at a World Class, Ofsted Outstanding school. You will have the opportunity to meet current students, staff and some of our industry partners. You can also take part in some great science, engineering and computing activities, utilising our fantastic facilities.
