UTC Reading hosts busy November Open Event for prospective students
On Thursday 8 November, UTC Reading held its November Open Event for prospective students and their families, which saw over 300 visitors through the door!
Prospective students were able to take a look around the facilities, talk with current students and teaching staff and get a feel for what studying at a UTC is like.
To give students a glimpse into UTC life, each department prepared several activities, as well as showcasing students’ projects. A student-led Bake Sale was also open to raise funds for their work project.
Leading industry partners such as Fujitsu, University of Reading, Cisco, and Royal Navy were available during the evening to talk about current and future projects that students get involved with when studying at UTC Reading.
Principal Jonathan Nicholls, and Vice Principal Neil Pouney gave a presentation in the main hall, where they discussed how a UTC education differs from traditional education, and its benefits; how the employer partners feed into the curriculum and provide further opportunities, as well as information on how to apply and requirements. The talk ended with a panel of students and industry partners, who also took part in a Q&A session.
We want to thank all those who joined us during the event, and we hope we made it an enjoyable, informative evening.
If you missed our open event, or want another look around, we will be hosting our next open event on Thursday 13 December at 5pm. You can get your tickets here.
