UTC Reading host first Open Event of the academic year
On Wednesday 26 September, UTC Reading hosted a busy Open Event for prospective students and their families, giving them the chance to tour the facilities and get a feel for what studying at a UTC is like.
Staff and current students were on hand to answer any questions, as well as give their first-hand experiences of the school.
Leading industry partners such as Fujitsu, NTT Security, RSSL and KBR exhibited during the event to talk about current and future projects that students get involved with when studying at the UTC.
Principal Jonathan Nicholls, Business Relations Manager Michael Halliday and Vice Principal Neil Pouney gave presentations in the main hall, discussing how a UTC education is different to a traditional education, and the benefits; how the employer partners feed into the curriculum, and the great opportunities that are given, as well as information on joining, and much more. This year, there was also a panel of students and employers, taking part in a Q&A, compered by Student Board President, James Carter.
From UTC Reading, we want to thank all those who attended the event, and we hope we made it an enjoyable informative evening.
