UTC Reading Year 10 students successfully pass Microsoft exams

Year 10 UTC Reading students, Ben Emmons and Ben Foster have successfully passed their Microsoft exams!

Ben Emmons passed the Software Development Fundamentals (c#) exam which tests understanding of core and object-oriented programming, general software development and web and desktop applications and databases.

He said: “UTC offering the exams was one my biggest motivations for coming here, so since joining I’ve taken advantage of all the opportunities I could get. I’ve currently got seven MTAs (Microsoft Technology Associate) and I am hoping to take another this coming Thursday. It’s such an exciting and competitive challenge and I would recommend people to try one, as I was instantly hooked. My goal is to pass every MTA exam by the end of this school year; this should give me a good foundation towards harder certifications like the MCSA’s (Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate).”

Ben Foster passed the Microsoft operating systems exam which tests understanding of operating system configurations, managing applications and devices and installing and upgrading client systems.

He said: “When I first took an MTA I found it really fun and rewarding as I had been revising for that week and it gave me a great sense of achievement when I passed. I also find it makes revising more fulfilling as you are working towards an objective and get instant results. I would highly recommend other people giving MTA'S a shot.”

Congratulations to both students on this fantastic achievement!
