Network Rail Introductory Presentation
Year 12 and 13 engineers at UTC Reading received a visit last week from Network Rail to explore the exciting opportunities open to them once they leave.
Network Rail representatives, Harriet Sergent and Jacob Bressington kicked off with a quick quiz, highlighting the important role the railways play in the UK. It was then followed by information on apprenticeship positions and graduate schemes they can offer. They stressed that Network Rail has roles for all engineering interests in areas such as; track, signalling, electrification and plant, telecommunications and overhead line engineering.
In addition to giving students an idea of what might await them after they leave college, Harriet and Jacob also introduced their work experience placements, which many UTC Reading students have successfully completed in the past.
