Students inspired by over 30 industry partners at Drop Down Morning
Last week saw one of the most ambitious careers events at UTC Reading to date.
Over 30 industry partners attended our Drop Down Morning, running a series of employability and career workshops, inspirational talks and group mentoring sessions for Years 11, 12 and 13.
Partners from AIM Apprenticeships, Equinix and QA ran workshops on CV development, giving students top tips on how to make their CV stand out. Mentors from Microsoft, Cisco, PBA, AWE, Equinix and Sage spoke to students in groups, introducing themselves and their careers briefly before discussing with the students their aspirations and areas of interest. There was a highly positive atmosphere with the students really engaging in the event.
The morning concluded with various talks; Tom Rijnbeek and Georgina Wilcox from Google spoke to computing students, while engineering students had a talk from Naomi Ashcroft, a senior partner at Peter Brett Associates. UTC Reading would like to thank everyone who made the day such a great success.
