UTC Reading students invited to the House of Lords
Two UTC Reading engineering students were recently given a unique opportunity to visit the House of Lords.
The post-16 students, Jaedyn Orange and Emma Clarke, accompanied Lewis Hutchinson, STEM Co-ordinator, to London for an all-party parliamentary group seminar. This was part of a series covering advances in engineering and UTC Reading were invited to take part by Heather Williams, Chief Executive of Young Engineers.
The day began at the Institute of Civil Engineers, before the group visited the House of Lords for lunch. The seminar covered possible future medical imaging techniques, primarily to locate early signs of cancer.
Lewis Hutchinson commented: “It was a fantastic day and we are very grateful to Heather for inviting us. It was a highly valuable experience for Jaedyn and Emma and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves.”
