IET Women in STEM series continues with Nadia Farhan
UTC Reading recently hosted the second talk in a series on Women in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics).
We are working with the IET (Institute of Engineering and Technology) to host this series of inspiring talks delivered by women in a range of careers and from a variety of backgrounds.
Nadia Farhan, HR Manager at Cisco, spoke at UTC Reading about her career path from school through to Cisco. She explained how she changed routes and followed the path that felt right for her, emphasising that “nothing is more powerful than the human network”.
Nadia also spoke about the balance between being a woman in a STEM career and bringing up children. She inspired listeners and gave some top tips about not being afraid to take risks, before answering several insightful questions asked by our Year 13 computer science students.
We are extremely grateful to Nadia for giving such an inspiring talk and are looking forward to the next in the series, which will be delivered on Monday 8 May by Kathie Bowden, UK Space Agency and Institute of Environmental Analytics. If you would like to attend any of these talks, please book your place online.
