Speed networking success for post 16 students

On Wednesday 25 January, we were delighted to welcome nine industry leaders and STEM Ambassadors to meet a group of our post-16 students at our first Tech Mentors speed networking event.

Students were able to spend five minutes with each Tech Mentor, giving them valuable insights into their line of work, and understand what makes a successful career. With such high profile industry leaders, the students were able to understand how a career can be developed, and how a successful company can be built.

The Tech Mentors were from a range of companies and backgrounds, all connected with Founders4Schools or Winchester Science Centre. Thank you to all who were able to attend and help us run this fantastic session:

  • Adam Bagdu, Virgin Media
  • Adam Hale, Fairsail
  • Andrew Hobbs, EBS Systems Ltd
  • Ben Goss, Distribution Technology
  • Ellen Padua Bautista, Verizon
  • Meri Braziel, Keycomm plc
  • Richard Jeffery, Active Ops
  • Stephen Twydell, 3T Group
  • Tony Ruane, Redstor Limited

Ellen Padua Bautista, Senior Consultant at Verizon, commented: "As a STEM ambassador it's truly rewarding to see and hear young students progressing their learning in the field of STEM and keen to build a career from it. Based on their questioning line, it’s evident that they are aiming for a good standard of career."

The event created a real buzz and was great fun for our students as they consider their options for the future. We’re looking forward to running another one soon.
