Work experience project for gifted students

A small group of Year 12 students have been chosen to take part in an innovative work experience project at the UTC.

On Monday 4 July, the students began six challenging projects on workflow automation and SharePoint intranet development.

The students were provided with an industry mentor in Sam Smith, Group System Architect for Activate Learning. Sam’s insights and tips on how to effectively create new services and functions within the UTC environment, enabled students to stretch their existing skills and work outside their comfort zone.

The group will continue to work on projects as the "UTC Development Team", giving them opportunities as a gifted and talented group of students to receive guidance and support in building highly desirable industry skills.
