Students at UTC Reading are celebrating today after receiving their GCSE and Level 2 technical qualification results, marking the end of a successful Year 11 journey and the start of exciting new opportunities.
Many students will now progress to a range of destinations, including local sixth forms and colleges, while others will continue their education at UTC Reading’s sixth form, where they will study A Levels and Technical Qualifications in STEM subjects.
Headteacher Jennie Thomson said she was proud of what students had achieved.
“I am incredibly proud to see our Year 11 students achieving great results and moving on to excellent destinations. Many of our students have overcome significant challenges and personal circumstances during their time with us, yet they have shown remarkable resilience, determination and commitment to their studies.
“Their hard work over the last two years is clearly reflected in the results we celebrate today. I wish all of our students every success and happiness in their next steps and look forward to welcoming many of them back to our sixth form to continue their journey with us.”
Throughout their time at UTC Reading, students have combined their core GCSE studies with practical, hands-on learning in a workplace-inspired environment. Alongside their qualifications, they have worked closely with employer partners, developing valuable work-readiness skills and gaining insights into future careers.
These real-world experiences help prepare students for further education, apprenticeships and employment, providing a strong foundation for future success.
UTC Reading continues to offer support and guidance on results day, helping students make informed decisions about their next steps and providing advice to any local young people who are still considering their post-16 options.
