UTC Reading is proud to announce a new partnership with local children’s charity First Days, helping to ensure that all young people have access to affordable school uniform, regardless of their family’s financial circumstances.
As part of the initiative, students and families will be able to access discounted or free school uniform through First Days’ established support network. The partnership reflects UTC Reading’s commitment to removing barriers to education and ensuring every student can attend school feeling confident, comfortable and ready to learn.
To further support the scheme, a dedicated uniform donation bin has been installed outside the UTC Reading school entrance. Parents, students and members of the local community are encouraged to donate good-quality school uniform items that are no longer needed. Donated items will be distributed through First Days to families across the local area who may benefit from additional support.
The new donation point makes it easier than ever for the school community to contribute to a more sustainable approach to school uniform, helping to reduce waste while supporting local families during a time when many continue to face rising living costs.
By working together with First Days, UTC Reading hopes to create a lasting positive impact for students and families, ensuring that access to the correct school uniform is never a barrier to educational success.
