E-learning Scheme at UTC Reading
As you will be aware, a laptop is an essential piece of equipment for every student at UTC Reading. There are two ways in which students are able to access a laptop to complete their studies at the UTC. The first would be for the students to Bring Their Own Device (BYOD), and the second would be to join the UTC Reading E-Learning Scheme that gives every student access to a laptop for their use both at home and at school to ensure that they can make the most of the time available for learning.
As you can imagine the UTC will commit a large amount of money to ensure the Scheme can run successfully. We must also ensure the Scheme is sustainable for the future and we ask that all parents donate towards providing the laptop, support, insurance, repair, maintenance and a case. Your contribution of £400.00 can be made here and we will be able to take advantage of the tax relief offered by the Gift Aid scheme.
The UTC will be underwriting the programme by at least £80,000 each year so your donation will not cover the full cost but is very significant and will help to keep the programme sustainable.
The recommended donation is £50 per quarter over 2 years or alternatively, you can make a one-off donation of £400.
If your child is eligible for Free School Meals, we will not ask you for a donation.
Please pay by following the instructions sent to you by email.
The UTC wants to ensure that no student is excluded from the scheme because of their financial circumstances. If you are unable to donate the suggested amounts, please contact Michael Halliday (Michael.Halliday@utcreading.org.uk).
We look forward to welcoming your child to the school in September.
