Eat. Sleep. STEM. Repeat.

Last week, the whole of UTC Reading participated in a viewing of the documentary Eat. Sleep. STEM. Repeat.

The documentary is based on the idea that "you can’t be what you can’t see" and helping to increase the visibility of women in STEM careers to the general public.

STEMettes have been working to inspire girls and young women into STEM for four years. In 2015 they ran the pioneering Outbox Incubator programme and the documentary depicts the outcomes of this project and its impact. The 30-minute video is about young female tech entrepreneurs and explores what would happen to the world if more girls were to Eat. Sleep. STEM. Repeat.

Following a viewing of the documentary, the next day students were encouraged to discuss their thoughts on it using materials provided by STEMettes. It was a highly interesting and thought-provoking exercise and we look forward to working with STEMettes on more projects and activities over the coming months.
